Naha Bay, AK

Naha Bay, home of tiny Loring, AK, is a delightful stop. A free public dock, with room for a 2-3 cruising boats, is deep in the bay, just before the tiderace. The dock setting is intimate, like almost river-like. A trail, boardwalk in places, leads along the shoreline past the tiderace to Roosevelt Lagoon. When the current runs, the tiderace is an impressive show of white water. Approach cautiously by water.

We dinghied from the dock to Loring. There wasn’t much to see since the museum was closed, but we enjoyed our visit.
