North Harbour, BC

North Harbour is a spacious, well-sheltered anchorage strategically located just inside the mouth of Quatsino Sound. Anchor anywhere west of Matthews Island in 25-50 feet. Besides a small float home on Matthews Island, the shoreline is undisturbed forest, providing a scenic (if not dramatic) backdrop. Protection from wind and waves at North Harbour is better than the chart suggests, and we’ve found it calm even when it’s blowing 30-40 knots offshore.
