2020 Flotillas

We’re thrilled to announce our Slowboat 2020 flotilla schedule!

NOTE: Our 2020 flotillas sold out within hours of our pre-announcement e-mail. We have been contacted since by many disappointed cruisers who were hoping to join (and have been wait-listed). In order to deliver the highest-quality experience, we limit our trips to small groups, allowing us to be nimble in our itinerary, to fit the group easily into the most exciting anchorages, and to be sure we have enough time to spend creating a great experience for each of our participants.

If you’re interested in a future flotilla, be sure to fill out the form below and get on our notification list. These trips are popular and fill up very fast.

This year, we are doing our most epic Alaska adventure yet – an expanded six week cruise from the San Juan Islands through coastal British Columbia to Sitka and Juneau in Southeast Alaska (hitting all of our favorite destinations in one flotilla!) This Inside Passage adventure departs in early May, and ends in Juneau in mid-June.

Then, in mid-August, we return to the north end of Vancouver Island for our popular and exciting extended trip down the amazing west side of Vancouver Island.

Slowboat flotillas are designed to be inspiring and empowering! Our goal is to visit the best destinations in the area, share our knowledge, and help participants become capable, confident cruisers. We like to have fun too! Most days have ample free time for fishing, kayaking, exploring by dinghy, or hiking on shore.

Our itineraries have enough flexibility to take advantage of spur-of-the-moment opportunities or the smoothest weather. In the evenings, we typically gather for happy hour or dinner on one of the lead boats, discuss the day, and plan for the next day. Throughout the trip, we’re happy to help however we can…whether that means helping you learn to fly a drone or replace a macerator (one is a lot more fun than the other!).

Slowboat flotilla participants love the experience! Many clients cruise with us summer after summer, while they enjoy learning about cruising in the PNW, socializing with new friends, and exploring our amazing cruising area. Read testimonials from past Slowboat cruisers by clicking here.

Glaciers. Icebergs. Whales. Bears. Cruising to Alaska is about incomparable nature right in front of your eyes. It’s about not just seeing the world, but experiencing it. Join the Slowboat team as we cruise from the San Juan Islands to Southeast Alaska in 2020.

Six weeks on the Inside Passage! We’ll make a quick trip north to Port McNeill, where we’ll re-provision and then head to the remote and magical wilderness north of Vancouver Island. We’ll visit sandy beaches, ghost towns, fjords, tidewater glaciers, and more!

This year, we’ve combined the destinations from multiple previous flotillas into one epic adventure. We’ll be continuing up the Inside Passage around the west side of Admiralty Island, visiting stunning anchorages such Pybus Bay, Red Bluff, and Takatz on our way to Sitka. Then, after some reprovisioning, we’ll head east stopping at some of our favorite destinations including Tracy Arm and magnificent Ford’s Terror and Dawes Glacier, ending up in Juneau in mid-June.

Flotilla 2 – West Side of Vancouver Island

Port McNeill to Victoria | August 16 to September 12 | Maximum 4 boats

[Sold out. Fill out the form at the bottom if you’d like to be added to the waiting list or would like information on future flotillas]

The West Coast of Vancouver Island! We are continuing the popular extended the trip we did the last three years, leaving more time to explore each of the five sounds on the west side of Vancouver Island!
