We left Monckton Inlet this morning just after 9am and headed south in Principe Channel in much nicer conditions than yesterday. Last year when we took this same route home, we saw SO many humpbacks bubblenet feeding at the southern tip of Pitt Island (right there where the red/orange marker is) so we were hopeful there might be some whales in the area. This morning we had another present on our anchor to deal with before we could leave our beautiful Honeydew Cove. All the prettiest spots seem to come with kelp! Our cruise yesterday from Thomas Bay to Windham Bay was whale-filled, including another (or the same?) group bubblenet feeding right around Cape Fanshaw. We left Cannery Cove on Tuesday morning after pulling the crab pots (2 keepers) and headed out into Frederick Sound. Very little wind and quite nice besides the rain.
