Another morning waking up to bright sun! We departed Sitka with with blue skies, flat water, and a nice view of Mt. Edgecumbe.
As we headed north in Neva Strait, we spotted a bear on the west shore. At first we thought she had cubs with her, but then we thought nope, those are rocks…too low and not moving. But then, they moved!! Turns out they were tiny cubs…three of them! They’d been lying in the grass when we first spotted them, hence mistaking them for rocks. So cute!!
Again with virtually no swell felt in Salisbury Sound.
Towing two skiffs and a barge full of crab pots…they’re READY.

We met for happy hour on Airship and just as we wrapped it up and folks headed back to their boats for dinner, it started raining again. Nice timing!
Crab traps are out and we’re hoping for a pleasant surprise in the morning! And then, off to Pavlof Harbor!
