Day 45 | 2025 Flotilla to Alaska | Rainy Ford’s Terror

This visit to Ford’s Terror has been one of the rainiest ever, but bright side…so many more waterfalls!!

Speaking of waterfalls, I forgot to post this photo of the one in the Ford’s Terror waiting room yesterday before we came in.

We had a fun coffee visit with Tim and Carole on sailing vessel Lumina this morning. They have had some amazing adventures (i.e. Northwest Passage, Svalbard, etc.) and you might really like reading their blog here. Inspiring!

Kevin and Andrea checked the shrimp pots this morning and we had 45 nice coon stripes (and another couple dozen this afternoon) so we’ll make something yum with them tomorrow night!

In the afternoon, in spite of the rain, we all got out in the dinghies to explore, because if you don’t explore in the rain you might not explore at all! Here are a ton of photos to give you the idea what it’s like in here today:

Andrea took some fun ones in the rain (hence the raindrops on the lens) but that just makes it more authentic, right?

We took people into the giant cut with waterfall, that we’re never ever able to capture with any image that feels like it is in person, but we keep trying.

Our timing was good for going into the east arm so we headed up! There was some new tide monitoring equipment on shore…interesting!

Looking back into the west arm…look how tiny our boats are!!!

Two boats (Objee and Lumina) left this afternoon, and three more came in. Still plenty of room for all of us.

We met for dinner on Airship (pasta theme) tonight…Carrie made fettuccine noodles for everyone, and we had three delicious sauces (bolognese, marinara, sun-dried tomato pesto) along with french bread and a big salad, and brownies for dessert.

After dinner, Kevin and Andrea showed the video they made from our new-this-year crab trap cam!! Here you go!
