Last night in Lowe Inlet was very windy and the boats all moved around at anchor quite a bit. A little tougher to get good sleep in those conditions, but luckily we weren’t leaving the anchorage until 11:30am or so which meant we could try to get a little extra snoozing in after the wind died down this morning. Also the morning, the rain returned. It was bound to happen.

Kevin went out to check the crab traps and came back with four good keepers!

We had an uneventful cruise up Grenville Channel. We saw one other pleasure boat, but that’s it in the way of traffic. When we arrived at Watts Narrows (about an hour before high tide) the current was still flooding and we got a little 2-3 knot push in without any drama. Fun coming through this narrow spot!

We’re the only boats in Baker Inlet, and the sun keeps trying to peek out.

We should have sun tomorrow for our stop in Prince Rupert. Ralph and Jeanette on Kali went ahead to Kelp Passage today and will cross Dixon tomorrow to get Jeanette into Ketchikan in time for her flight home (that they already moved by three days to fit the delay in our schedule). We’re planning to cross on Saturday to Foggy Bay, then into Ketchikan on Sunday.
Kevin took the Mavic up for some aerials of Baker Inlet:
Dinner on Airship tonight was pasta night. Carrie on IF made fresh fettuccine (!!!!), and we had a pot of bolognese simmering and put together an easy butter/garlic/lemon/shallot/white wine/CRAB sauce as the other sauce. We made a big salad, homemade vinaigrette, and had some cookies for dessert. Everything was SO good, and I think I’ve mentioned before but this group is SUCH fun.

Too busy with the final product to take any actual cooked food photos, but we’ll try next time.

Tomorrow…into Prince Rupert!
