More rain, more gray, still beautiful.

The great conditions originally forecast for today changed to just okay, as a low pressure system is headed in. Looks like wind could be increasing to maybe 20-25kts by the afternoon, and this evening might even bring a few 35kt gusts. Airship and Turnagain de-rafted and Turnagain headed to the dock to try a quick hot spring soak before heading up to Takatz Bay.
Here’s a shot of the dock and surrounding anchorage as Airship motored out of Warm Springs Bay (Turnagain on the far right):

DeAnne from Turnagain sent me a few photos she snapped this morning:

Out in Chatham the wind was maybe 5-10kts with slightly rippled seas…very nice!
We’re all anchored now in Takatz Bay, and it’s gorgeous, but still very rainy. We’ll be happy when this passes and we get to see some more sun. We’re happy now, we’ll just be happier then. 🙂

We were originally going to get together for a happy hour, but a quick informal poll showed that the majority of folks might prefer staying cozy inside, so we moved it to tomorrow night!

Early in the evening the rain abated and any wind disappeared, so folks went out in kayaks, paddleboards, dinghies…but no bears to be seen here yet. We still have some time, but normally we’d have seen some by now.

One nice thing: the forecast for tonight and tomorrow improved slightly, so we will likely have a less bumpy ride up to Peril Strait! Bright side!
