Day 34 | 2025 Flotilla to Alaska | Baby Bear Bay to Sitka

We pulled out of Baby Bear Bay this morning around 8:30am so we’d arrive at Sergius Narrows near slack with some time to spare. We got a nice push on the way there, but first, right outside of our anchorage we were treated to this fantastic show by a lone Pacific white-sided dolphin. So much fun watching it leap and twist!

We saw a few humpbacks along our route, and had very little traffic through Neva and Olga Straits, which was nice. It is often very busy and can be pretty nerve-wracking as large boats pass in the skinny spots!

We had to wait a little bit (found space on the transient dock) for the harbormaster to find us slips with power for three days, but he did, and we’re all settled in now for a few days.

Passing the cruise ship docks as we arrive in Sitka

People got busy with shopping and exploring and doing boat projects and such (it wasn’t raining!) and we’ll spend our time here doing some shopping and sightseeing and getting our guest room ready and cleared for our friend Andrea who is going to join us for the last leg and add some nerdy naturalist fun to our group!!

A couple shots of Eliason Harbor in the gray and drizzle:

We’ll be here for three nights, so will try to gather more photos and stories during that time before we head out on the next leg of the trip!
