We left Pelican this morning just after 8am. The low clouds persisted but the rain we listened to overnight had mostly stopped.

Conditions in Lisianski Strait as we headed west to the outside of Chichagof Island were calm and peaceful, and the sky brightened as we neared the ocean.

We saw one humpback near Cape Dearborn/Hill Island, and quite a few sea lions along the route, but it was raining quite a bit so no photos.
We watched this great short film about the history of the gold mining in Kimsham Cove and Klag Bay (where we’ll be tomorrow) on our way down the coast. Great background for visiting this area! (They even mention Radioville and Joe Bauer!)
Super fun getting a little dose of history as we return to these spots.
It rained all afternoon so I worked on some small paintings, naps were taken, and a few boat projects tackled. We got together for dinner on Turnagain…delicious carnitas tacos and salad!

The plan for tomorrow is 11nm over to Klag Bay. We won’t be leaving early…if it’s not raining too terribly, we may go onshore for a little exploring! The longer we wait, the more it brightens up! Hope that continues into tomorrow!
