Day 37 | 2025 Flotilla to Alaska | Sitka to Appleton Cove

We woke this morning in Sitka to….SUN!!! Sure, there are still some clouds, but one whole part of the sky was just BLUE.

Andrea pulled up an urchin from a line hanging over the bull rail:

Look at all that blue sky!!! We know, it won’t last, but we’ll take it while we get it!

We saw several humpbacks today, some sea lions, another jumpy dolphin, and several brown bears.

The water was beautiful and flat.

We all anchored in Appleton Cove, set out some crab pots (along with so many others), and had a super fun happy hour on Airship.

We had our own personal bear on shore near us, so that was fun!

Everyone came over for happy hour on Airship, and when Carrie and Tony checked their crab trap they had a nice keeper! We’ll check ours in the morning before we leave.

In the evening, the bear came back out, so that was fun! A good day for bears!
