Airship | Dunn Passage South on Campania Island

We left Saycuritay Cove yesterday around 9:30am and headed south to Campania Island. Missie was up early and snapped this cool photo of the morning sky:

We thought we’d cruise in to take a look at the Harwood Bay anchorages, but ultimately figured we’d go further south to Dunn Passage, since so much area near Dunn Passage could be explored by dinghy.

We anchored, had some lunch, and then set out for some high tide exploring. There are SO many areas to poke into around here! We’re anchored where the red arrow is, and we were able to explore the entire area where both pins are…super fun!

Nothing major in the way of wildlife (“major” meaning: wolves and bears), but plenty of gulls, Canadian geese and other miscellaneous water birds, several kingfishers, and a few jumping salmon. We cruised around one corner to find these three sandhill cranes.

This morning before we left Kevin took the Mavic up for some aerial shots.

Russ went out in his dinghy to check the depth in a couple of the shallow/skinny spots we came through yesterday (since we had 13ft less water underneath us than we did when we came in) — the shallowest he saw was 20ft. (Today’s low was a 1.8ft low.)

And here’s a fun video of the area:

We’re headed down to McMicking Inlet now…one of our favorite spots in this whole area!
