We left the dock in Meyers Chuck early! We planned a ~65nm day all the way down to Kah Shakes Cove with a pit stop in Ketchikan to mail a package and top off with fuel. (A 5:30am departure meant we didn’t order cinnamon rolls from Cassy to be delivered warm to Airship at 7am.) 🙁

Conditions were nice in Clarence Strait and we had an easy, uneventful cruise into Ketchikan — uneventful until we were back in the land of float planes and tour boats and cruise ships, that is.

We fueled up at the Petro Marine north of town by the float plane dock, then found transient moorage in Bar Harbor South and walked up to Frontier Shipping, and stopped in Safeway to grab an ingredient I needed. After that, some halibut and chips from Alava’s, and then back on the water!

We arrived at Kah Shakes just before 5pm, and dropped a couple crap traps just inside (tip from Ben and Penelope on Razamo).

A nice quiet night, with a beautiful sunset!

Next up: Dixon Entrance
