We left our anchorage at Mound Island around 7:30a.m. and had a calm, leisurely cruise up to Blunden Harbor. It was quite foggy, but cleared a few miles from Blunden Harbour and turned into a nice day!
Today we met up with our third boat, Great Escape (a Maritimo 50, with Bob and Shelly aboard).
After we were all settled in, we gathered together for a longer dinghy excursion back into Bradley Lagoon.
The current was still ebbing when we went in, but just a few eddies and boils (and not the whitewater rapids it was when we checked it out 45 minutes earlier).
We went way way back up this lagoon, and far off the chart (maybe a couple miles) where it looked like we should still be on land. A successful expedition, and the current back at the narrows had turned to flood and was just about as (not) dramatic as when we came in!
We gathered on Airship for grill night (the rain started JUST in time) and had a delicious dinner with our whole group: steaks, chicken, baked potatoes, caesar salad, broccoli salad, potato salad, and cookies for dessert.
The weather forecast for our trip around Cape Caution looks good: wind light but increasing later in the afternoon. Hopefully, it will be much like today, but with some mellow ocean swell!
