We left Wrangell around 6am this morning for a date with Wrangell Narrows.

Yesterday brought some gray skies, cooler weather, and a little rain. We’re not complaining at all though because look how beautiful it still is!
The annual photos of Two Tree Island:

There’s a little blue sky to the west, but mostly gray where we are headed.

The current in Wrangell Narrows ebbs from the middle out, and and floods from the ends in. This morning it’s ebbing until about 10:30, and slack at Petersburg is around 11am, so we decided to buck a little current as we enter the narrows to arrive in Petersburg around slack, which makes docking in any of the outer slips a bit easier.

The harbormaster put us all together toward the end of C dock in the south harbor…first time maybe ever that we’ve all been together, but they said we’re the first group of boats they’ve seen this season.
Dave from Nordic Tug Turnagain is here right now (you might remember him from the 2025 flotilla, with DeAnne and their awesome boat dog Bodhi) getting Turnagain ready for the season (they kept her here over the winter)…so great to see Dave! We’ve kept in touch, but nice to have an in-person visit!
We walked up to pay for our moorage, got some lunch at Salty Pantry (along with a couple of pastries to go with coffee tomorrow morning), and walked around town a bit.

We’ll stay here two days before heading over to Thomas Bay!
